About Robert Squire:

Bob is a retired police officer, having served more than 21 years with the Anne Arundel County (MD) Police Department. Following his retirement from law enforcement in 2001, he served with the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation in Washington. While at NHTSA, Bob was a Safety Defects Specialist dealing primarily with heavy vehicles. Bob joined MATAI in 1986 and has served as MdATAI’s Vice-President since 1994 and MdATAI’s representative to the ACTAR (Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction) Governing Board of Directors since 1996. He became ACTAR accredited in 1994 and currently is the Chairman of the ACTAR Board.

Bob has more than 20 years experience in the field of collision reconstruction. During his law enforcement career his duties included crash reconstruction and commercial vehicle safety, size and weight enforcement and certification as a motor carrier safety and hazardous materials inspector. Bob also worked as an instructor in the areas of collision investigation, motor vehicle law, EVOC and firearms. He also participated in the development of joint police and fire department incident response training.
